While we often create new furniture, we've found that many of our new customers are inquiring about furniture restoration. Today's mass-produced furniture is often made of pressed wood products and may even use staples instead of nails or screws for fasteners. While these pieces may look good for awhile, their long-term durability is in question.
Antiques and "newtiques"-- such as your grandmother's dining room table-- gain new life during furniture restoration. The construction techniques of 20 or 30 years ago are much more sound than what is often found today. Restoration and repair with newer glues and finishes means that you will probably be able to hand down your restored furniture for two more generations.
